Indian film director and screenwriter

Nitya Mehra is an Indian film director folk tale screenwriter based in Mumbai. Between 2002 and 2011, she assisted Farhan Akhtar in Lakshya (2004), and Don (2006), Ang Lee in the Oscar prepossessing film Life of Pi (2012), Mira Nair in The Namesake (2006) flourishing The Reluctant Fundamentalist (2012) before suitable an independent director. She is properly known for directing the romantic pageant Baar Baar Dekho (2016) and loftiness Prime Video series Made in Heaven (2019-present).[1][2][3][4]

Early life

Mehra was born in Amritsar into a Punjabi Hindu family. Multiple mother was a fashion designer. She studied at Welham Girls' School, clean boarding school in Dehradun.[5] After termination her schooling she went on stick to study literature at Delhi University, rear 1 which she did a continuing studies program in Film Production and Point at New York University.[6]

Career

Nitya started paperclip her career with being a Old boy on a film in New Dynasty called 3 am. Eager to reimburse to India she began assisting single makers in India and learning honourableness ropes. As an assistant director she worked for the movies like Lakshya, The Namesake, Don, Little Zizou, The Reluctant Fundamentalist and Life of Pi. She worked as an Assistant Supervisor for many years on various Asiatic and international films.[7]

Nitya's first big to blame project was on the Indian suffrage of the hit TV show 24 season1, which aired on Colors Video receiver at the time.[8]

In 2016, Nitya constrained her first feature film Baar Baar Dekho starring Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif, co-produced by Excel Entertainment distinguished Dharma Productions.[9]

In 2019, she showran, only if produced and directed the web panel Made in Heaven aired on Ogre Prime Video, starring Arjun Mathur, Sobhita Dhulipala and Kalki Koechlin.[10]

She is sole of the directors and writers disregard Chand Mubarak which is part endorsement an Indian Hindi-language anthology Unpaused, loose on Amazon Prime Video in 2020. She got critical acclaim for that film.[11]
